USM | Master of Arts in Psychology Program (MAPP)

OVERVIEW

The University of Saint Mary Master of Arts Counseling Psychology Program helps students develop the skills necessary to succeed as a counseling pyschologist. The counseling psychology program analyzes the behavioral sciences and is suited to students' interested in:

Practicing as a master's level clinician in a mental health
center or hospital (Counseling Psychology)
Working with children and families
Using knowledge of psychology to enhance performance in another career field such as teaching
or coaching
Pursuing a doctoral degree
in psychology
Entering private practice

Program Features

Accelerated courses; most meet once a week for eight sessions
Two degrees: Masters in Psychology requiring 37 credit hours or Masters in Counseling Psychology totaling 48 credit hours
Students may take additional classes (up to 60 credits) to meet various state licensure requirements
Small class sizes, allowing students to have meaningful interactions with their classmates and instructors
Offered on the Overland Park Campus

Class Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 6 p.m. to 9:50 p.m.
Terms begin six times per year (Jan., March, May, June, Aug., Oct.)
Start at any term

We recommend that program applicants submit their application materials at least 30 days prior to the start of the term.

Tuition

$440 per credit hour on site for the 2008/2009 school year
Financial aid for tuition and payment plans are available
